Fancy Fittings Limited started commercial production in May 1994, with its manufacturing facilities located in Daman. The promoters of FFL had originally promoted a partnership firm called M/s. Fancy Fabrics. The firm had established a very good reputation in the luggage fittings market and the brand “ff” owned by it enjoyed strong brand equity.

The firm had developed only dies and moulds for its products and did not possess any injection moulding capacity. The firm used to get its products manufactured from other plastic processors. Given the excellent growth potential in the luggage fittings and plastic moulded articles market, the partners decided to go for backward integration by setting up their own production facility. However, it was decided to establish their production facilities by formation of a new entity, namely Fancy alternative financial sources available to a corporate entity.
